Prospect- and mine-related features on USGS topographic maps
Symbols indicating mining-related features digitized from historical USGS topographic maps in the western part of the conterminous United States. Includes prospect pits, mine shafts and adits, quarries, open-pit mines, tailings piles and ponds, gravel and borrow pits, and other features.
USGS USMIN mineral deposit database
A developing national-scale geospatial database that will be an authoritative source of information on the most important mines, mineral deposits, and mineral districts of the United States.
WSGS 2018 mine and prospect compilation (incomplete)
WSGS publications and other sources were used to amass data for more than 3,000 sites currently depicted on the map. Sites include historical and contemporary mines and prospect locations. Data include coal, aggregates, uranium, metals, and other minerals, specifically addressing analyses for mineral commodities deemed critical to U.S. economic and national security in 2018. Information depicted on the map includes mine locations, geology, and historical information. Not all commodities and counties were fully compiled, these data are an incomplete representation of mines and prospects. WDEQ active mines
The datasets display the point location of active limited mining operations authorized by the Land Quality Division (LDQ) of the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ), the point location of pits operated by county governments under a LQD mine permit, and the permit boundaries for large mine permits, small mining permits, and research and development licenses. The permit location data are for display purposes only and do not represent survey-grade information. The permit location data are updated at least annually, and the WDEQ/LQD makes no guarantees as to the validity, and assumes no liability associated with the use or misuse of this information. Users are referred to individual mine permits and limited mining operation authorizations for more detailed information. |

Mine locations are derived from the geographic center of WDEQ Land Quality Division permit areas and may not reflect the exact current mining location.
