Includes prospect pits, mine shafts and adits, quarries, open-pit mines, tailings piles and ponds, gravel and borrow pits, and other features. USGS USMIN mineral deposit database A developing national-scale geospatial database that will be an authoritative source of information on the most important mines, mineral deposits, and mineral districts of the United States. WDEQ active mines The datasets display the point location of active limited mining operations authorized by the Land Quality Division (LDQ) of the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ), the point location of pits operated by county governments under a LQD mine permit, and the permit boundaries for large mine permits, small mining permits, and research and development licenses.
