Layers: Description: “The airborne survey was funded by the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative. The survey was designed to meet complementary needs related to geologic mapping and characterization of mineral resource potential. A total of about 72,000 line km of magnetic and radiometric data were acquired over an irregular-shaped area of about 13,000 km2. Data were collected from a helicopter flown at a nominal terrain clearance of 100 meters (m) above topography along N-S flight lines spaced at 200 m intervals. Tie lines were flown in an E-W direction every 2000 m. Data were collected by New-Sense Geophysics Ltd. and Merrick-Surdex Joint Venture, LLP, under contract to the USGS using a helicopter with a magnetometer mounted in a stinger and a fully calibrated gamma-ray spectrometer. The survey operated out of airports in Laramie (WY), Saratoga (WY), Steamboat Springs (CO), Craig (CO), Walden (CO), and Loveland (CO) from September of 2023 to September of 2024.”Data Release: U.S. Geological Survey, 2025, Airborne magnetic and radiometric survey, Sierra Madre-Elkhead Mountains-Medicine Bow Mountains region, Wyoming and Colorado, 2023-2024: U.S. Geological Survey data release, https://doi.org/10.5066/P1BRPU8H.Data from USGS have in some cases been minimally modified (i.e. clipped to spatial extent, projected, shaded, etc.) but have not been formally reviewed or altered by the WSGS. Users are encouraged to visit the USGS data release to download the original dataset.The following geophysical data layers are included in this service:Footprint - Survey footprint shapefileTotal Magnetic Intensity - Georeferenced Image of Total Magnetic Intensity.  Pink is high, blue is low magnetic intensity.Reduced-to-pole Magnetic Intensity - Georeferenced Image of Reduced-to-pole Magnetic Intensity.  Pink is high, blue is low reduced-to-pole magnetic intensity.First Vertical Derivative - Georeferenced Image of First Vertical Derivative.  Pink is high, blue is low first vertical derivative.Ternary (K, eTh, eU) - Georeferenced Image of Radiometric Ternary map. Red = Potassium, Green = Thorium, Blue = Uranium. Potassium (K) - Georeferenced Image of Radiometric Potassium map. Pink is high, blue is low potassium concentration.Thorium (eTh) - Georeferenced Image of Radiometric Thorium map.  Pink is high, blue is low thorium concentration.Uranium (eU) - Georeferenced Image of Radiometric Uranium map.  Pink is high, blue is low uranium concentration.
