This polygon coverage contains the measurements of depth
for Yellowstone Lake. Depth information is in meters (10 meter
contour interval). It includes islands.
Yellowstone Lake has been the subject of much research in
recent years. The management of non-native lake trout (Salvelinus
namaycush), discovery of deep water hydrothermal features, and
submerged cultural resource inventories demanded a more accurate
bathymetric map of the lake.

navigational system which under ideal conditions has a precision of

Base maps and background information.
The field season of 1987 produced sonar profiles using a
bottom profiler and pulse radar navigational system.

Sonar profiles were corrected for errors and supplemental
information was added.
